On Thursday afternoon, a police helicopter experienced a crash into LakeBalaton, near the vicinity of Balatonszéplak. Fortunately, there were noreports of significant injuries resulting from the incident, as confirmedby the National Police Headquarters’ communication service, which promptlyrelayed this information on the police’s official website.
According to the details provided by police.hu, the unfortunate eventoccurred during a scheduled exercise conducted by the Air Policing Serviceof the Standby Police.
The MD 500E helicopter, being utilized in the exercise, plunged into thewaters of Lake Balaton approximately 300 meters from the lakeshore.Miraculously, the two-person crew on board was successfully rescued, thanksto the prompt response of a nearby vessel.
