Another controversy hits Asia Cup 2023

In Asia Cup’s Super, only Pakistan and India have reserved a rain day(extra day) for their match, while coaches of the Bangladesh and Sri Lankancricket teams have expressed mutual displeasure with the Asian CricketCouncil’s decision.

Sri Lanka’s head coach, Chris Silverwood, and Bangladesh’s head coach,Chandika Hathurusingha, are not pleased with the Asian Cricket Council’sdecision to reserve a rain day only for the Super Four stage matchesbetween India and Pakistan.

During a press conference, the head coach of the Bangladesh cricket teammentioned that the Technical Committee of the Asia Cup includesrepresentatives from all participating countries, so this decision musthave been made for some other reason.

The Bangladeshi coach stated that they were not consulted about thisdecision and would also like to have a reserve day in case of rain.

He mentioned that he would refrain from further comments on the mattersince the Asian Cricket Council has already made the decision. However, ifthey had consulted them, they would have provided their opinion.
