PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani unveils series of reforms in the Board

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani has revealedseries of reforms to be implemented in the Board.

Mani wants to implement corporate culture in the board and for thatpurpose, he is also willing to give up some of his powers.

Mani wants PCB to function error-free and wants to continue with the sameteam that ex-chief Najam Sethi worked with.

The new chief also wants to add a chief executive officer (CEO) to theboard, and will advertise for it after relevant amendments to the PCBconstitution. Moreover, for the CEO post, Mani prefers an expert in thecorporate field rather than an ex-cricketer.

It was added that the PCB COO will see an increase in powers, and willcontinue working on the on-going projects initiated by Sethi. The chairmanwill have less powers and most of the policy-making and decisions will betaken by the COO, CEO and rest of the board members.

The PCB chief is also pondering to reduce the number of departmental teamson advise of Prime Minister Imran Khan, since the preference is quality notquantity, but Mani also considers that reducing teams could financiallytake a toll on domestic cricketers.
