ISLAMABAD – Russian Ambassador in Pakistan Alexey Yurievich Dedov called onprime minister-in-waiting Imran Khan at Banigala in Islamabad on Thursday.

The Russian ambassador felicitated the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)chairman on his victory in the recently held general elections anddiscussed matters of mutual interest.

Imran, who is due to be sworn-in as premier next week after his July 25election victory, met acting US Ambassador to Pakistan John F Hoover onWednesday and said the ups and downs in relations had led to a trustdeficit.

“(My party) wants to build a relationship with United States based on trustand mutual respect and hence our government will engage with US to makethis relationship more balanced and trustworthy,” he said.
