MQM Pakistan warns PTI as cracks appear in the alliance

KARACHI – The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) and the PakistanTehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) alliance has started to shake even ahead of itsformal launch in the National Assembly.

MQM has warned PTI not to nominate Firdous Shamim Naqvi, the party’sKarachi chapter chief, whose comment had annoyed Imran Khan’s coliationpartners from Karachi.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan has also asked Naqvi to not issue any statementsrelating to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan.

“If Tehreek-e-Insaf nominated Firdous Shamim Naqvi as opposition leader inSindh Assembly it will jeopardize the coalition,” MQM-P leader KhawajaIzhar-ul-Hasan said here on Thursday.

Hasan said that MQM-P will never accept Naqvi is an opposition leader.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Firdous Shamim Naqvi hasconfirmed that party chief has warned him against making statements againstthe MQM-P.

Speaking to media outside Bani Gala, Naqvi that the party’s main agendaright now is to form government wherever they can, while party leaderKhurram Zaman said that the most important task right now for them is to“save Sindh from the Pakistan Peoples Party”.

Naqvi on Sunday said that the alliance with MQM-P was made due to certainnecessities.
