NEWDELHI:India has officially responded over the issue of invitations toany Indian national for oath taking ceremony of expected Prime Minister ofPakistan, Imran Khan.
Indiasaid it had not received anyrequest from anyone in the countryforattending the swearing-in of cricketer-turned-politician Imran KhanasPakistan Prime Minister.
“We have not received any suchrequest,” Ministry of ExternalAffairsspokesperson Raveesh Kumar said inresponse to a query at amedia briefing,according to Hindustan Times.
“I have read in the media that somepeople have said that if they gothey willseek MEA’s advice,” Kumar said. “Ifthey approach us, then wewill decidewhat advice to give.”
Earlier, there were reports that Khanwould be inviting some of hisfellowcricketers from India and as well asBollywood stars but nothinghas beenconfirmed.
