Russia has become the fourth country that established full-fledgeddiplomatic contacts with the Taliban under the chargé d’affaires scheme.Before the Russian Federation, Pakistan, China and Turkmenistan beganto work with the Taliban on the same diplomatic scheme.
According to TASS, the Russian diplomatic department sent a note to theEmbassy of Afghanistan recognizing Jamal Nasir Garwal as Afghanistan’sCharge d’Affaires in Moscow.
The Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed that theTaliban Foreign Ministry had notified Russian counterparts of thetermination of Seyyed Tayyib Javad’s business trip, who servedas Ambassador, and fulfillment of his duties by Jamal Nasir Garhwalas Chargé d’Affaires.
The radical movement Taliban is still banned in the Russian Federation.It is also recognized as an extremist organization in Kyrgyzstan.
