*ISLAMABAD: The National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) on Tuesdaysigned a memorandum of understanding with law enforcement agencies to stopfinancial aid for terrorism activities.*
The MoU was signed by the institutions including Federal InvestigationAgency (FIA), Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR), and National AccountabilityBureau. The counter terrorism departments of all provinces were also madepart of the MoU.
According to NACTA, the agreement would pave the way for effectiveimplementation of national task force’s recommendations.
“All institutions will ensure cooperation under the anti-money launderingand anti-terrorism acts.”
The NACTA statement said the MoU would help strengthening its cooperationwith all law enforcement agencies.
A day ago, Annual report of the National Counter Terrorism AuthorityPakistan (NACTA) was released, stating at least 517 people died across thecountry last year in terror-related incidents.
Pakistan has witnessed significant cut in terrorism incidents during 2018,the NACTA report said. NACTA has on Sunday submitted its report to PrimeMinister Imran Khan.
