*ISLAMABAD – Japanese Envoy Kuninori Matsuda called on Foreign Minister(FM) Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Tuesday.*
According to a statement issued by Foreign Office on Tuesday, the two sidesdiscussed a wide range of issues and expressed satisfaction at the positivegrowth in relations between Pakistan and Japan.
The Japanese envoy briefed the *FM Qureshi* about his upcoming two-dayvisit to Japan on the invitation of Foreign Minister of Japan Taro Konofrom 22nd of this month.
The statement said J*apan* is a key economic partner of Pakistan and hasmade important contributions in supporting Pakistan’s development effortsover the years.
It said the foreign minister’s visit to Japan will further enhance thealready existing friendly relations between the two countries.
The visit would provide an opportunity to both the sides to discussprospects of cooperation in all the areas of mutual benefit, includingpolitical, economic, education and training of Pakistani workers under theMemorandum of Cooperation on Technical Intern Training Programme, as wellas issues of regional and global importance.
The Japanese ambassador assured his government’s full support to enhancebilateral relations with Pakistan.
