DAMASCUS – In Syria, at least fourteen people were killed in missile attackon Tayfur airbase in Homs province this morning.
State news agency SANA reported that Syrian air defense system actedagainst the attack, destroying eight missiles before they reached theirtarget, while others hit the base. State-run media outlets blamed that theUnited States was behind the attack. Pentagon has denied the allegation.
The strike on the military air base came as international outrage mountsover an attack on Saturday in the rebel enclave of Eastern Ghouta in whichover seventy people were killed.
Meanwhile, UN Security Council will meet today to discuss an alleged poisongas attack in Douma.
