KARACHI – In one of the local flights of PIA, sugar sachets were found tohave faulty manufacturing date which caught immediate attention of theauthorities.

According to sources, the manufacturing date on the sachets given topassengers was set as July 2018 which raised suspicions about the qualityof sugar.

Taking notice of the issue, CEO PIA Musharraf Rasool ordered investigationinto the matter. He has vowed not to observe any lenience in the matter asit directly affects the credibility of the company.

Before this, PIA came into limelight for a kitchen-related issue when theattendants and the crew was seen handling food without observing properhygienic measures.

According to PIA sources, the supplier has been blacklisted and sent alegal notice, while all the existing stock of sugar has been returned.
