In a surprise move, Asif Zardari announces to contest General Elections

*NAWABSHAH: Former president Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday announced tocontest upcoming general elections from Nawabshah.*

“Strategy for the upcoming general elections is on the anvil. We willcontend elections with full preparation this time,” he said whileaddressing the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) office-bearers, workers andnotables of the city at Zardari House in Nawabshah.

MNA Dr Azra Pechuho, provincial minister Zia Lanjar, and other senior partyleaders were also present on this occasion.

The ex-president said that his party will emerge victorious in the 2018elections across the country and he would steer the country out of trouble.

Zardari claimed that the PPP was impeded from winning the returningofficers’ elections in 2013 through a conspiracy and an impression wasgiven that the PPP was an unpopular party in Punjab.

He said the party activists had worked hard, no matter how much hard timesthey had to undergo. He had always upheld faith in PPP workers, he said.

“Attempts were made to scare us in the past as well, but we are not fromthose who can be scared. We will not give in,” he said.

The PPP-Parliamentarian president also said Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto wastheir leader. He said his party would implement 18th Amendment of theconstitution, according to which powers should be delegated to the localgovernment.

Earlier, on Wednesday Zardari declared war on former prime minister NawazSharif saying that he would never make any compromise with him.
