Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a sixteen-member squad for the upcoming five-match one-day international series against Australia.
Shoaib Malik will lead the team.
Other members of the squad include Muhammad Hasnain, Abid Ali, Faheem Ashraf, Haris Sohail, Imad Wasim, Imamul Haq, Junaid Khan, Muhammad Abbas, Muhammad Amir, Muhammad Rizwan, Shan Masood, Umar Akmal, Usman Shinwari, Saad Ali and Yasir Shah.
Six players including Sarfraz Ahmad have been given rest for Australia series. The series between Pakistan and Australia will kick start in Sharjah on 22nd of this month.
Sharjah will also host the second ODI while the third game will be played in Abu Dhabi.
The last two matches of the series will be played in Dubai.
Addressing a press conference at National Stadium Karachi on Friday, the chief selector of national cricket team Inzamam ul Haq said changes have been made taking into consideration player workload in the build up to the World Cup, which starts 30 May.
He said series against world champions will not be an easy one and these players, in fact, will be tested to their limits.
The chief selector said it is a good sign for Pakistan cricket as we now have a big pool of players who have the capability, talent and potential.
