Federal government to increase prices of medicines today

The decision will be made today whether the prices of medicines willincrease or not.

As per the official sources, an important meeting of PakistanPharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PPMA) and the Ministry of Healthwill be held in Karachi at 3pm today.

The Ministry of Health is expected to increase the prices of medicines by24 per cent.

The pharmaceutical companies have prepared proposals regarding the increasein the prices of medicines.

A 38.5 per cent increase in prices of medicines will be proposed.

The pharmaceutical companies have demanded an increase in the prices of 119medicines.

Among these 119 medicines are drugs for the treatment of blood pressure,TB, diabetes, etc.

The proposals are being made to raise the prices of medicines amid risingprices of raw materials due to expensive dollar.
