ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Netherlands Ardi Braken called on Advisor to thePrime Minister on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood on Friday to discuss theeconomic vision of the incumbent government.
The advisor informed the ambassador about the recent economic initiativeswith regard to ease of doing business, which would help boost foreigndirect investment in the country.
The ambassador held detailed discussions with the advisor on the investmentplans of Dutch companies in Pakistan and informed him that a high-levelbusiness delegation from the Netherlands would be visiting Pakistan inMarch to explore investment opportunities, particularly in the agricultureand related businesses.
She also shared with him positive feedback from Dutch companies on therecently announced economic and business facilitation package. The envoyinvited the Pakistani business leaders to participate in the GlobalEntrepreneurship Summit, to be held in the Netherlands, in June 2019.
The advisor welcomed the investment plans of the Dutch companies and saidthat foreign direct investment is among the top priorities of thegovernment. He also encouraged the Dutch ambassador to revisit hercountry’s travel advisory for Pakistan.
Dawood highlighted that the Portuguese government has already revised itstravel advisory positively for Pakistan, adding that after the resumptionof British Airways operations in June this year, footfall is expected torise in Pakistan.
He assured the ambassador that the government would provide completesupport for the enhancement of Pak-Netherlands economic cooperation andbusiness linkages.
