Pakistani PM Imran Khan thanked overseas Pakistanis for record breaking achievement

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan has thanked overseas Pakistanis foryet another record-breaking month of remittances of US$2.4 in December.

In a tweet on Friday, he said: “MashaAllah, first time in Pakistanremittances have been above US$2 billion for six consecutive months. Totalfor six months of this fiscal year US$14.2 billion – a 24.9% growth overlast year.”

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan was briefed in detail about a surveywith regard to social and economic impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.

In the survey, it was told that a large number of families wereeconomiccally affected by coronavirus. However, the ratio was reduced byJuly 2020 due to timely steps taken by the government and smart lockdown.

Appreciating the digital system, he said that the system would help monitorthe prices of daily-use items and performance of the districtadministration.
