The Pakistan Navy warships, Shamsheer and Haibat, recently visited the United Arab Emirates and participated in a naval exercise. Upon their arrival in Abu Dhabi, they were greeted by senior officers of the UAE Navy and officials from the Pakistani Embassy.

During the visit, the mission commander, along with the commanding officers of PNS Shamsheer and PNS Haibat, engaged in key meetings with UAE’s senior military leadership. These discussions covered professional matters of mutual interest and explored opportunities for enhanced bilateral naval cooperation.

On September 6, the Pakistan Navy formally inducted two new warships, PNS Babur and PNS Hunain, into its fleet during a ceremony held on Defence Day. The induction ceremony for the MILGEM-class Corvette PNS Babur and the offshore patrol vessel PNS Hunain took place at the PN Dockyard in Karachi, with the President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, attending as the Chief Guest.

PNS Babur is a multipurpose ship that was built and commissioned at the Istanbul Naval Shipyard on September 23, 2023. Meanwhile, PNS Hunain, an offshore patrol vessel, was built and commissioned at DAMEN Shipyard in Romania on July 25, 2024, according to the Navy’s Director General Public Relations.
