Good News for the overseas Pakistanis

Bahrain has taken a significant step by introducing a new service that allows expatriates to renew their residency and work permits, even if they are currently outside the country. This service is available to expatriates in both the commercial and government sectors, including registered laborers and domestic workers. It is being offered in partnership with the Labour Market Regularity Authority (LMRA).

To access this service, individuals can use the National Portal of Bahrain to renew their residency permits. Additionally, work permits can be renewed through either the Expatriate Management System or the official LMRA channels.

The announcement of this new service was made by Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, the Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports, and Residence Affairs (NPRA) at the Interior Ministry. He highlighted that this initiative is part of their modernization efforts, carried out in collaboration with government and private organizations.

Shaikh Hisham also commended the LMRA for their cooperation in providing various facilities. Nibras Mohammed Talib, the Chief Executive Officer of LMRA, mentioned that employers can renew work permits through the Expatriate Management System, allowing them to choose the duration of the permit and complete the payment process.

Employers also have the option to complete the renewal process and pay the required fees by visiting one of the banks authorized by the LMRA.
