Pakistan PM Imran Khan wishes to follow Chinese President Xi Jinping

BEIJING - Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan wishes to follow Chinese President Xi JinPing.Prime Minister Imran khan has said that corruption is the biggest impediment in the way of investment.

While addressing the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade on Tuesday, PM said that the way China has tackled corruption is exemplary.

“Now is the time for Pakistan to learn from China. If I am not mistaken around 400 ministerial level people have been convicted by China in cases of corruption. I wish I could follow Chinese President’s example and put 500 corrupt people behind jail in Pakistan. If you have corruption, it stops investment,” PM said.

PM said that what inspires him the most about China is the way they have lifted 700 million people out of poverty in 30 years.

“This is an example entire world can follow and learn from China. They brought investment, they created wealth and then spent that wealth on less privileged sections of society,” he said.

Imran Khan said that China has allowed their businesses to make money.

“Since my government has come into power, we have taken a conscious decision that we will encourage profitability and investment. Earlier, there was some sort of envy in our system but we are encouraging businesses and we want them to make profits,” PM said.
