PESHAWAR: The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salah-ud-din Khan on excellent courageous performance against terrorists awarded Dera Ismail Khan police officers and jawans with cash prizes and commendation certificates.
During search and strike operation an encounter took place between police party and terrorists at Kut Shah Khana Dera Ismail Khan the other day. After an hour severe encounter the police party enabled to kill two notorious terrorists namely Mattiullah s/o Aman Ullah and Kashif Jamal s/o Abdul Majeed. Both were wanted to police in several terrorist incidents, taget killing and attacks on police officers and jawans, says a police statement.
A motor cycle, five hand grenades and two 9 MM pistols were recovered from them. It may be recalled that both terrorists were from banned organization.
Addressing the ceremony the IG Police appreciated the bravery exhibited by the jawans at the risk of their precious lives.
The IGP said, killing of terrorists the Dera Ismail Khan police had added a new chapter of bravery in history of KP police. The IGP lauded the bravery and extra-ordinary courage of the police jawans who took part in the encounter and termed them real asset of the force and hoped they will repeat the same performance in future too.
On the occasion the IGP awarded Sub Inspector Salimullah Khan and constables Wilayat Khan, Javed Iqbal, Sher Muhammad, Javed and Mira Jan with cash prizes and commendation certificates.
Principal Staff Officer to IGP Capt. (R) Mansoor Aman was also present on this occasion. (APP)
