Pakistan-UK economic cooperation discussed with UK State Secretary

ISLAMABAD: UK Secretary of State for International Development Justine Greening called on Finance Minister Ishaq Dar here at PM House and discussed economic cooperation between both countries.

As per details, matters related to economic cooperation between both countries were discussed during the meeting while both dignitaries also exchanged views over the international development perspective at the occasion.

Speaking at the occasion, Justine Greening was informed by Ishaq Dar that present government is taking comprehensive measures to restore the economic situation of Pakistan and economic indicators are consistently being improved during last three years with the sincere efforts of government.

Ishaq Dar also appreciated the support of Pakistani government by developmental participators including UK regarding economic reforms program.

While informing about the achievements of operation Zarb-e-Azab, Dar pointed out that scourge of militancy and extremism has been rooted out by Pak Army and now rehabilitation process in the affected areas is underway by government.

Speaking at the occasion, UK Secretary of State Justine Greening assured that UK would continue its support to Pakistan regarding economic reforms program while several challenges have been ended by government in last three years.

Both dignitaries also agreed to continue the process of dialogues till the finalization of new developmental participatory agreement that consist of 10 years. Current developmental participatory agreement is going to end in September this year.

Senior officials of the finance division, economic affairs division and the UK High Commission also participated in the meeting.
