RAWALPINDI: US special envoy on Pak-Afghan Ricard Olson called on Chief of Army Staff Gen. Raheel Sharif here at GHQ, Rawalpindi.
As per ISPR, matters related to regional security situation were discussed in the meeting. Both dignitaries exchanged views over the security situation of Afghanistan.
Richard Olson lauded the efforts of Pakistan for the eradication of terrorism and paid tribute to the martyrs who lost their lives in fight against terrorism. Olson also appreciated the Pakistan Army efforts in Operation Zarb e Azb and both agreed to further enhance the bilateral security measures at the Pakistan Afghanistan borders in order to check the militants movement across the Durand Line.
Effective coordination and cooperation between Pakistan and Afghanistan was agreed upon by both leaders in order to make the fight against terrorist more meaningful across both sides of Af-Pak borders.
