ISLAMABAD: Defense Secretary Lt-Gen. ® Alam Khattak informed the
Senate Standing Committee that Indian forces have become aggressive since Narendra Modi came in power.
He informed the
senate committee that ceasefire violation has increased since Modi was elected as PM.
India willfully has violated ceasefire more than 240 times. Indian forces also committed violation of Line of Control 163 times and working boundary 84 times under Modi government.
He further told that at least 39 civilians have been died and 150 injured due to violation of ceasefire. The bilateral ties between Pakistan and
India have worsened because of the violation of ceasefire.
“Although the Directors General Military Operations (DGMOs) of both countries speak via a hotline every Tuesday, the ceasefire violations by
India have raised tensions,” he said.
