ISLAMABAD: The 44th martyrdom anniversary of Major
Shabbir Sharif was observed yesterday (Monday). A ceremony was held in the memory of its most decorated officer to pay rich tribute by Pak Army.
As per details, Commanding Officer Major General Fida Hussain Malik with a Contingent of Pak Army presented salute to Major
Shabbir Sharif and floral wreaths were laid on his grave in Miani Sahib Graveyard in Lahore by the Chief of Army Staff General
Raheel Sharif and Pak Army.

Shabbir Sharif was the elder brother of Chief of Army Staff General
Raheel Sharif and he was martyred during Indo- Pak war in 1971. He was born in April 28, 1943 at Gujrat. He also got the 3 highest awards of Pak Army.
Major Shabbir also got the Sword of Honor from Pakistan Military Academy Kakul as cadet. He was given Sitara- e- Jurat due to bravery in 1965 war and he got the highest military award Nishan-e-Haider in 1971 war.
