LAHORE (APP): Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said on Sunday that some political opponents creating hurdles in development projects of public welfare, fearing that these projects would end up their politics.
Talking to elected representatives of Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N), he said, the PML-N government believed in selfless service to people, and progress and prosperity of the country, as lot of work has been done for the improvement of every sector during last three years.
However, some political elements once again trying to create hurdles in public welfare projects only for their vested interests.
These defeated political elements were again out to stop Pakistan's speedy development process through container politics but the nation was now much aware of these elements that they have no interest with masses welfare, he maintained.
In democracy, he added, decisions were not made on roads but in the parliament. Despite negative politics of sit-in and chaos, the PML-N mission of public service would be fulfilled at every cost, he vowed.
The Chief Minister said the PML-N government had introduced the culture of completion of development projects with transparency, quality and speed and a third party audit had been made compulsory in this regard.
A number of mega projects, he mentioned, had been completed in education, health, infrastructure and other sectors of social development throughout the province, while several other programmes were continuing successfully for welfare of poor segments of the society.
He assured that PML-N government would come up to people's expectations by honouring all promises made to them.
The Chief Minister said that Orange Line Metro Train Project in Lahore was being executed speedily and its completion would ensure availability of modern travelling facility of international standard to the masses.
Shehbaz Sharif expressed the resolve that no effort would be spared in the execution of developmental projects, and those indulging in politics of protest would never succeed in their futile attempts and Pakistan would continue to progress.
