ISLAMABAD – The federal government has released Rs297.643 billion forvarious ongoing and new social sector uplift projects under its PublicSector Development Programme (PSDP) 2019-20 from the total allocated budgetof Rs701 billion.
Under its development programme, the government has released an amount ofRs135.113 billion for federal ministries, Rs100.56 billion for corporationsand Rs21.52 billion for special areas, according to a latest data releasedby the Ministry for Planning, Development and Reform.
Out of these allocations, the government released Rs26.78 billion forsecurity enhancement in the country for which the government had allocatedRs32.5 billion during the year 2019-20.
An amount of Rs12 billion has also been released for the merged areas oferstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) under the government’s10 years development programme.
Similarly for Higher Education Commission (HEC), the government released anamount of Rs14.1 billion out of the total allocated budget of Rs29 billion,whereas Rs150.73 billion were released for Pakistan Nuclear EnergyAuthority for which the government allocated Rs301.48 billion in thedevelopment budget.
For the National Highway Authority (NHA), the government released Rs93.57billion against its allocations of Rs154.96 billion.
Under annual development agenda, the government released Rs6.4 billion forRailways Division out of its total allocated amount of Rs16 billion, Rs4.47billion for Interior Division, and Rs5.56 billion for National HealthServices, Regulations, and Coordination Division.
Revenue Division has received Rs3.2 billion out of its total allocation ofRs1.9 billion, and the Cabinet Division received Rs19.3 billion from thetotal of Rs39.986 billion allocated for the year 2019-20.
The government has also released Rs12.75 billion for Azad Jammu and Kashmir(AJK) block and other projects out of its allocation of Rs27.26 billion andRs8.7 billion for Gilgit Baltistan (Block and other projects).
