Pakistan and Turkiye Top Leadership held important Dialogues in Azerbaijan

Baku, Azerbaijan – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held asignificant meeting with the President of Turkiye, H.E. Recep TayyipErdogan, in Baku. The meeting was also attended by Chief of the ArmyStaff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, reflecting the importance ofthe engagement in strengthening bilateral and defense relations between thetwo brotherly nations.

During the meeting, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to furtherdeepening the historic ties between Pakistan and Turkiye, emphasizingcooperation in trade, investment, defense, and regional peace. PrimeMinister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated Turkiye’s consistent support forPakistan on key regional and international issues.

President Erdogan, in turn, lauded Pakistan’s role in promoting peace andstability in the region and expressed his desire to enhance collaborationacross multiple sectors, including technology, infrastructure, and energy.

The presence of COAS Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted the growingdefense cooperation and mutual trust between the armed forces of bothcountries. The leaders also discussed joint efforts to address globalchallenges such as climate change, economic recovery, and humanitarianassistance.

The meeting in Baku comes amid the ongoing efforts by both countries toexpand their strategic partnership under the Pakistan–Turkiye High-LevelStrategic Cooperation Council, reaffirming the shared vision of unity,progress, and prosperity.
