ISLAMABAD – In a positive development, Federal Board of Revenue to launchfully automated ‘Track and Trace’ system in Pakistan.
Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Shabbar Zaidi has announced thatFBR will implement a fully automated ‘Track and Trace’ system for fourmajor sectors, i.e, aerated beverages, sugar, cement and fertilizer during2019-20.
According to a tweet by Shabbar Zaidi, FBR will be instituting a fullyautomated ‘Track and Trace’ system for sectors other tobacco as well.

FBR will be instituting within this financial year, fully automated ‘Trackand Trace’ system’ for at least four major sectors of industry, in additionto tobacco, which is already in process. The industries under considerationare aerated beverages, sugar, cement and fertiliser.link

He further stated that the process of formation of joint committees ofrepresentatives of traders and FBR will be completed by the end of month.

The process of formation of joint committees of representatives of tradersand FBR will be completed by the end of month. The job of these Committeeswill be registration of traders, dispute resolution and other functions asdecided in the agreement with bodies of traders.
These committees will assist in registering traders and resolve theirdisputes as well. Other than that, the committees will assist the tradersas per the agreements and communicate with the trader bodies to implementFBR’s policies.
