ISLAMABAD: In a bid to reduce dependency on imported gas and to meet gasrequirements of the country, the Petroleum Division (PD) has decided toaward 20 exploration licences to interested exploration and production(E&P) companies.
As per details, Director General of Petroleum Concessions (DGPC) AbdulJabbar Memon has invited bids from E&P companies for the grants of blockssituated in four provinces.
“The bidding documents can be obtained from the office of the DGPC on awritten request and payment of a non-refundable fee of $100 (or equivalentin Pak rupee) in favour of DGPC through a bank draft. The bid documents mayalso be downloaded online with a payment of $100,” the Petroleum Divisionstated.
“Sealed applications are required to be submitted by the interestedexploration and production companies to DGPC by 10 am (PST) on January 15,2021, and these applications will be opened publicly by the Bid OpeningCommittee on the same day at 10:30 am (PST) in DGPC office in the presenceof the applicants or their representatives.”
According to DGPC, an application shall also furnish bid bond with eachapplication equivalent to 1 per cent of the bid offered while bidssubmitted by all applicants will be considered as irrevocable andunconditional and in case any applicant stands otherwise, his bid will notbe acceded and will be treated as ‘non-responsive’.
Successful applicants will be selected in accordance with the provisions ofthe bidding documents. The authority (DGPC) reserves the right to exercisethe power to accept or reject any application and in the event of refusalto grant petroleum rights, the DGPC shall as far as possible provide thereason therefore.
Any bidder offering work unit lower than the minimum threshold specified inthe policy or the bidding documents be treated as non-responsive and hisbid shall not be further evaluated.
Similarly, the DGPC has declared that any of the bidder(s) attempts toinfluence the DGPC in any manner whosoever shall result in disqualificationof such bidder(s).
It was learnt by *Profit* that applications are invited for grant ofpetroleum exploration rights (Exploration License) for Block No.3068-6(Killa Saifullah), Block No. 2762-2 (Desert), Block NO. 3067-7 (Sharan),Block No. 3272-16 (Lilla), Block No. 3372-25 (Abottabad), Block No. 3471-1(Nowshera), Block No. 3372-26 (Hazro), Block No. 3273-5 (Jhelum), Block No.3372-27 (North Dhurnal), Block No. 2663-23 (Khewari East), Block No. 3068-9(Nareli), Block No. 3068-10 (Block-28 North), Block No. 3170-11 (D. I. KhanWest), Block No. 3069-9 (Suleiman), Block No. 3072-9 (Okara), Block No.3171-2 (Nupur), Block No. 2972-7 (Vehari), Block No. 2972-8 (Sutlej), BlockNo.2770-4 (Islamgarh) and Block No. 2467-17 (Sujawal South).
