IMF bailout Package: Federal government takes the final decision

LAHORE – The federal government has taken the final decision of reachingout to the International Monetary Fund for bailout package to save theeconomy from disaster.

The formal decision has been taken that federal government is going toseek out the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF’s) assistance in a bid totackle the country’s financial woes.

Finance Minister Asad Umar has said that immediate negotiations have beenstarted with the visiting IMF team and that the Prime Minister, Imran Khanhas approved immediate negotiations with the IMF.

Before the IMF team’s scheduled visit, PM Khan, while talking to the mediahad said, “We may go to IMF for a loan to handle the country’s financialissues, but, first we will try to get assistance from other countries as wehave requested three countries to deposit money in Pakistan’s State Bankthat would help boost national reserves.”
