ISLAMABAD – Two new members have been added into the Economic AdvisoryCouncil.
Dr Faisal Bari and Dr Alia Hashmi were included in the Economic AdvisoryCouncil (EAC).
After extension of two members, the EAC consisted on the 17 members.Meanwhile, Dr Faisal Bari is serving as Economics professor in the LahoreUniversity of Management Sciences (LUMS) and Dr Alia is member of monitorypolicy in the State Bank of Pakistan.
Earlier, the federal government removed the name of Dr Atif from the EACafter the protest of religious parties. Protesting the government’sdecision to withdraw the nomination of Dr Atif Mian on the EconomicAdvisory Council, economist Dr Asim, Dr Ijaz and Dr Imran Rasool resignedfrom the newly-formed body EAC.
However, Prime Minister Imran Khan is the chairman of the EAC. In the EACbody comprised seven members from the federal government while ten membersfrom the private sectors.
