ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan has launched “Clean and GreenPakistan” initiative at a ceremony on Monday (today).
Addressing to the inaugural event, he said a country-wide campaign forcleanliness would be launched Saturday next and this would be sustainedover the next five years.
The president, the governors, the ministers and the chief ministers wouldparticipate in ceremonies aimed at making Pakistan clean and green. He alsosaid that the plan involves a holistic approached aimed at taking care ofair, ground and water pollution.
The prime minister said that the initiative would have four aspects. Heurged members of the civil society to complement efforts of the governmentin creating necessary awareness about sanitation and environmental issues.
Imran Khan said cleanliness would form part of the syllabus from class oneto five and a beginning has been made from institutions of the federalcapital. He said as part of the integrated solution, dumping sites would beidentified from village to Tehsil level for disposal of solid waste.
