The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will announce its parliamentaryboard for the upcoming general elections next month for the national andprovincial assemblies, according to sources. In October, the PML-N made thedecision to establish a parliamentary board for the elections to thenational and provincial assemblies.
Shahbaz Sharif will lead the parliamentary board, while Nawaz Sharif willoversee the distribution of tickets as the party leader.
The decision by the PML-N to rely on established political figures incertain constituencies, where the candidates are weak, reflects a strategicmove. Only in such constituencies will fresh faces and strong candidates bebrought forward.
