Islamabad (August 8, 2025): The IT infrastructure of Pakistan PetroleumLimited (PPL) has come under a cyberattack.
According to PPL, the company’s IT infrastructure was targeted in aransomware attack, and a ransom note was received.
PPL stated that the cyberattack has been reported to regulatory and lawenforcement authorities. Investigations into the ransomware attack areunderway, and so far, the company has not made any contact with the hackers.
The PPL spokesperson said that the company’s sensitive data remainedsecure; however, part of the IT infrastructure was temporarily suspendeddue to the attack.
