ISLAMABAD – Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday dismissed appeal movedby Awami Raj Party leader Jamshed Dasti seeking a recount of votes in theconstituency NA-182, Muzaffargarh.
A three-Judge bench headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard theappeal challenging Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) orders anddirected the applicant to approach the Election Tribunal.
Dasti requested ECP in the application for recounting in 295 pollingstations in his constituency in Muzaffargarh district.
Meanwhile, the apex court also nullified the decision of Lahore High Courtregarding the vote recount in NA-131 where Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief,Imran Khan defeated Pakistan Muslim league Nawaz leader, Khawaja SaadRafique. – APP
