LAHORE – The PML-N workers in the City registered a very low key proteston the conviction verdict against the former Prime Minister Mian MuhammadNawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son in law, Capt (r) Safdar.
The life in City remained as usual and at nowhere a notable publicagitation was seen, although the administration had deployed the police andthe law-enforcers at public and commercial sites as well as outside theelection offices of the PML-N candidates.
It appeared that the people were disinterested about what had happened tothe leader of a mainstream political party.
Interestingly, no protest was observed at the corner meetings of the Nleague candidates rather at the party convention in the NA-123 Leagueworkers were seen dancing to the tune of drum beats before arrival of HamzaShehbaz Sharif.
Only a slight gathering was seen outside the Lahore Press Club while abunch of around three dozen PML-N supporters led by Ch Zulfiqar and MirzaJaved and former MPA Rukhsana were seen raising slogans outside the mainSecretariat of the party at Model Town.
It was seen outside the LPC protest the participants were asking theworkers to reach the protest venue but they did not receive a warm responseas the gathering of N workers continued to be thin.
