*ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is likely to visitthe United States on May 12.*
According to sources, the schedule of the foreign ministers’ visit is stillunder consideration but it has not been finalized yet. Foreign MinisterBilawal has been invited to the United States by his US counterpart AntonyBlinken.
During the visit, the foreign minister will attend the World Conference onCorona Outbreak in the United States. He will also attend theInter-Ministerial Meeting on Global Food Security on May 18.
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will also hold several meetingswith top officials, including his US counterpart. Minister of State forForeign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar is also expected to join the delegation.
Earlier exchanging his views on various aspects of Pakistan-US relations,Bilawal Bhutto Zardari underscored that Pakistan and the United States havea longstanding broad-based relationship. “Constructive and sustainedengagement between the two countries on the basis of mutual respect andmutual interest was vital to promote peace, development and security in theregion and beyond.”
Whereas, building on the Pakistan-US cooperation in dealing with the Covidpandemic during the last two years, Secretary Blinken had invited Pakistanto the Second Global Covid Summit to be held virtually later this month.
