LHC takes up Hamza Shahbaz petition despite objections from registrar citing Article 69 that Court cannot interfere in Parliament business

The LHC’s registrar objected to admitting the plea of Hamza Shahbaz Sharifciting Article 69, which restricts courts from interfering with theparliament’s business. Later, the matter was forwarded to LHC Chief JusticeAmeer Bhatti, who admitted the plea.

Earlier, Hamza’s lawyer Tarar, told the LHC that the speaker was himselfrunning the CM’s office, and on the other hand, the deputy speaker wasworking in line with the Constitution.

The LHC asked whether the petition could be set for hearing on Monday. Atthis, the lawyer said the province does not have a government for the lasteight days. “Then where were you for the last eight days?” the LHC CJ asked.
