ISLAMABAD: An Iranian drone struck Dubai’s iconic 23 Marina Tower on Saturday, igniting a fire and sending thick smoke billowing from upper floors in the upscale waterfront district, amid Tehran’s escalating retaliatory campaign against perceived US-linked targets in the Gulf following recent American and Israeli military actions.
The 90-storey luxury residential skyscraper, one of Dubai’s tallest and most prestigious buildings, houses affluent expatriates, international professionals, and foreign investors. Eyewitness accounts and verified social media videos captured the moment of impact, with debris scattering and flames visible from surrounding neighbourhoods.
Dubai Media Office confirmed the incident, stating that emergency response teams swiftly contained the blaze. No casualties were reported, and partial evacuation measures ensured resident safety.
