On Thursday, in Islamabad, the District and Session Court extended the temporary bail of Bushra Bibi, the former first lady and wife of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, in the Toshakhana case until September 12.
Bushra, accompanied by her lawyers Salman Safdar, Intezar Panjotha, and Naeem Panjotha, appeared before Additional Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra's court. During the proceedings, the investigating officer (IO) requested the judge to permit Bushra's arrest, stating that her audio had already been sent to the Federal Investigation Agency for forensic analysis.
Salman Safdar, Bushra's lawyer, expressed his concerns, stating that investigators had subjected his client to prolonged questioning, despite her denial of the audio's authenticity. He emphasized that the disputed audio did not belong to Bushra.
In response to the judge's inquiry about the relevance of the audio in a case related to fake receipts, the IO was instructed to focus on the text of the FIR. The IO then requested additional time to compare Bushra's voice with the audio.
Consequently, the court adjourned the hearing of the case until September 12.
