ISLAMABAD - Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived on Saturday in Islamabad to attend the trilateral talks between Pakistan, China and Afghanistan.
FM Shah Mahmood Qureshi received China FM at Noor Khan Air Base. Foreign minister of Afghanistan Salahuddin Rabbani is also due to arrive in Pakistan today. FM Qureshi, Yi and Rabbani will lead their respective delegations.
This will be the third China, Pakistan and Afghanistan foreign ministers’ dialogue in last three years. The agenda of the dialogue focuses on political relations, peace process, security cooperation, counter terrorism and development cooperation and connectivity.
A statement from the Foreign Office states, “Pakistan attaches highest importance to the dialogue as a part of political trust building, development and cooperation and connectivity leading to greater understanding on issues of common concern.”
