In a swift and courageous response, officials from the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) successfully defused an explosive device in Rawalpindi on Tuesday. The incident began when a vigilant passerby on Adiala Road discovered a suspicious bag, prompting immediate notification to local authorities.
Upon receiving the alert, Rawalpindi police quickly contacted the Bomb Disposal Squad to assess the situation. The BDS personnel promptly arrived on the scene and conducted a thorough inspection, confirming the presence of explosives within the suspicious device. They proceeded to safely defuse the device.
The Bomb Disposal Squad's report indicated that the device contained approximately 1200 grams of explosives, all of which were neutralized during the operation.
Notably, the device had been strategically placed at a distance of 100 meters from Gate No. 5 of Adiala Jail, which is located near Dhaka Sweets Gorakhpur and houses high-profile prisoners, including the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
