In a new development, PSL franchises to have new head coaches for PSL 2020

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises are expected to have new head coaches for the fifth edition of the tournament.

The news regarding Dean Jones, who was Islamabad United’s head coach, has been confirmed. It is expected that Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans, and Lahore Qalandars will also follow in Islamabad United’s footsteps.

Following the departure of Dean Jones, the owner of Islamabad United Ali Naqvi said:

In preparation for the whole tournament, moving to Pakistan and the natural progression of different members of the team, we have been evolving our plans and strategies over the past year.

Sources believe that Misbah-ul-Haq will take over the role of head coach at Islamabad United but the franchise said they would make the announcement of the new appointment later on.

Multan Sultans, who were coached by Johan Botha in 2019 and Tom Moody in 2018, is in talks with former Zimbabwean cricketer and former England coach Andy Flower.

Karachi Kings are also unlikely to stick with Mickey Arthur, who was removed as Pakistan cricket team’s head coach a couple of months ago. Some sources claim that Dean Jones is interested in signing with Karachi Kings.
