The United States has deployed aircraft career and a bomber task force to the Middle East in response to warnings from Iran.
US National Security Adviser John Bolton said today that by the deployment of aircraft career US Abraham Lincoln in the Middle East the United States wants to send a clear and unmistakeable message to Iran that any attack on the US interests or on those of its allies will be met with unrelenting force.
He said the United States is not seeking war with Iran but it is fully prepared to respond to any attack.
The deployment marks the latest in a series of moves by the Trump administration aimed at ratcheting up pressure on Iran in recent months.
