United States gets a blow from the United Nations

NEW YORK - The United Nations has said that imposition of unilateral coercive measures on Cuba, Venezuela and Iran by the United States violates human rights and the norms of international behavior.

In a statement, UN special rapporteur on the negative impact of the unilateral coercive measures Idriss Jazairy warned that the US bans against the trio might precipitate man-made humanitarian catastrophes.

He said regime change through economic measures is likely to lead to denial of basic human rights and starvation that have never been accepted practices of international relations.
