KARACHI: (APP) The Patron-in-chief of Pakistan Hindu Council and MNA Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani has vindicated the media reports about expression of shock by the Senate's Human Rights Committee over the Sindh Government's poor drought response in Tharparkar.
In a press statement here Friday, he said members of the Senate Human Rights Committee were shocked to know that the Sindh government had spent an incredible amount of money on relief activities but there were no records to confirm that relief had actually reached the affected people.
Dr Vankwani, who also represents Tharparkar in the National Assembly, said Pakistan Hindu Council had been recording protests and raising voice to highlight crucial law and order situation along with questionable relief activities going on in Tharparkar from a long time.
He was of the view that lawlessness and bullying was being promoted under the supervision of PPP's local leaders MNA Faqeer Sher Mohammad Bilalani and MPA Mahesh Kumar Malani,
"Government of Sindh is paying no attention and due to this the minorities are also suffering," he observed.
He also expressed his dismay on the illegal hunt of rare Chinkara deer by the PPP lawmakers including MNA Bilalani, MNA Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah of Nawabshah district and MPA Sardar Nawab Ghaibi Khan Chandio of Kambar Shahdadkot district, all of whom have been booked in an FIR by the Sindh Wildlife Department.
He alleged that corruption was adversely affecting the relief activities in Tharparkar.
He requested Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to take immediate notice of all the findings of Senate's Committee on Human Rights for taking strict measures against the people responsible for such dreadful crimes.
He also invited the Senate Committee members on Human Rights to visit Tharparkar in person to observe the miserable lives of the people.
