LAHORE:Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Capt. (retd) Arif Nawaz Khan has directed the DPOs Okara, D.G Khan and Rahim Yar Khan to enhance their efforts for taking action against proclaimed offenders.
He directed them to take all possible steps to arrest criminals involved in murder, kidnapping for ransom and dacoity incidents.
The IGP said that foolproof security of educational institutions and foreigners especially Chinese should be ensured at any cost.
He said that any kind of torture under police custody will not be tolerated, adding that strict action would be taken against those found guilty of torture in police custody.
He expressed these views while addressing to video link conference of all RPOs and DPOs here on Tuesday.
The RPOs and DPOs briefed the IGP about front desk, model police stations, arrest of proclaimed offenders and other heinous crimes.
The IGP said that it is responsibility of all RPOs and DPOs to regularly assess the IT projects so that steps should be taken for betterment of department with the passage of time.
He said that process of weapons stock checking should be completed in all districts till March 15.
