India's nuclearisation of Indian Ocean will create instability in region: Sartaj Aziz

ISLAMABAD: Advisor to PM Nawaz on foreign affairs Sartaj Aziz has made it clear that it is the misconception of India that it would be safe from arms race while India wants to nuclearize Indian Ocean.

While expressing his views over the adjourned motion move in Senate here at today, Sartaj Aziz said that Pakistan has expressed its concerns over the recent missile test by India while India want to spread instability in the region to join arms race.

India wants to nuclearize Indian Ocean but Pakistan would present a resolution in General Assembly to stop India from nuclear activities in Indian Ocean. Sartaj added.

He further stated that Pakistan nuclear capability is recognized at International level and Pakistan wants peace in the region but our desire for peace must not be considered as weakness.

Sartaj elaborated that Pakistan is not oblivious from its defense and we are fully aware about our defense needs and requirements while Pakistan would meet its defense needs without joining arms race.

Talking about nuclear supply group membership, he made it clear that India would not be given any exception by Pakistan to become nuclear supply group member while Pakistan is in contact with all 49 countries of nuclear supplier group and effective lobbing is being made by Pakistan in this regard.
