Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif inaugurated 760 megawatt first unit of Haveli Bahadur Shah power plant near Jhang on Friday evening.
Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif are also accompanying him.
The project is a Combined Cycle Power Plant with a total production capacity of 1230 MW, fueled by Liquefied Natural Gas.
The first unit has been completed in a record period of 21 months.
Later, the Prime Minister visited Control Room of the power plant, where he was briefed about the details of project.
After completion of the second unit, power plant will generate 1230 megawatt electricity and the project will save two billion rupees annually.
