Cotton Production in Pakistan plunge by 34% making it lowest in last 15 years

ISLAMABAD: Cotton production has seen 15 year low after a 34% plunge owing to humidity, rains and intense temperature.


Cotton Ginners Forum Chairman Ahsanul Haq said that 92 lakh bales of cotton have been produced during the season while textile industry purchased 41 lakh bales in season due to reduction in production.


The total number of purchased bales are 72.71 lakh.


He further added that the production of cotton has severely affected by the rains, high temperature and humidity in ongoing season.
